Bob and Dale Reese get their ho-down, country-stomping delightful tunes to uplift the residents at WRC's Saturday's Weekend WOW event. Here, they perform "Put Another Log On the Fire."

Kareen King, puppeteer, singer, song-writer, shares Emilou Goldenpuppet with WRC residents. Emilou is a puppet of Kareen King's who is based on a real-life resident. Kareen creates dramatic interactions, songs and stories to give a speaking platform to a woman who felt marginalized and displaced from her youth onward. Kareen hopes to raise awareness and demonstate that all residents, no matter what level of confusion or functionality, are valuable and have incalculable treasures within if we are willing to search those qualities out.

National Nursing Home Make a Wish week (May 9-15, 2010)

WRC staff and residents gather en masse to celebrate National Nursing Home Make a Wish Week.

During this "Make a Wish" extravaganza, WRC residents and staff got to see the Kansas City Royal's last-year Cy Young-award-winner, Zack Grieke, get his first 2010 victory.		WRC resident, Don Melchoir, received a 'Certificate of Thanks' for 36 years of service to the Santa Fe Railroad, as we brought some very excited WRC residents on a site-seeing tour and restaurant-outing to Union Street Station.

Union Station Visit

Our group went to Union Station and the KC Rail Experience. We took Dale Flynn in the Electric wheel chair, Evelyn Burkhart who was able to get up into the trains and had a blast, Jennie Boyer, Larry Hawley who had a blast, Ruby Croan, Gladys Clark who the WRC gang how to use the old switch board.

National Nursing Home Week

Cisco provider, Chris Knapp, provides a spectacular and scrumptious banana flambe' for residents and staff.		Wellsville Mayor, Bill Lytle, made lasanga for residents on National Nursing Home Week's Italian Day. They were very excited to have him serve wine as well.
